Privacy and Confidentiality
Your privacy is important to me. Any personal information you share will be kept safe, secure, and used only for the purpose it was provided. I work in line with current data protection laws (GDPR, 2018) and the ethical guidelines of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
Your contact details are stored securely in a locked filing cabinet and accessed only by me. All devices used for emails are password protected. Your information will never be shared with third parties and is used solely for essential administration, such as booking appointments and processing payments.
Everything discussed in sessions is confidential. I keep brief, anonymised paper notes for professional use only, which are stored securely. In line with professional guidelines, records are kept for up to seven years after therapy ends and then securely destroyed.
I aim to create a space where we can openly discuss how our work together is progressing. If you have any concerns, I encourage you to raise them with me first. If we are unable to resolve an issue, you may follow the NCPS complaints procedure.
